Updated: Aug 29, 2022

Bluefield, WV -- The Bluefield West Virginia Economic Development Authority (BEDA) officially unveiled its new website and accompanying social media handles today. The change reflects new information and streamlined access to resources for entrepreneurs, business owners, aspiring business owners, and businesses looking to locate in Bluefield.

The new site highlights quick access to Available Property within the City, BEDA's Entrepreneur Bootcamp, BEDA News & Press Releases, and BEDA's Opportunity Zone Prospectus.

“We are committed to keeping our business owners and stakeholders informed and share important information and resources quickly and effectively. This is a major asset, especially when courting potential investments to Bluefield. Everything you need to know is there,” expressed BEDA Chairman Bill Cole.

BEDA also changed its social media handles respectively for consistency. The Facebook page is now "Bluefield WV Economic Development" with handle "@mybluefieldwv", the Instagram handle is now "@mybluefieldwv", and the LinkedIn page is now "Bluefield WV Economic Development".

“Bluefield has an even stronger presence online and it shows. The website complements BEDA’s efforts in revitalization and answers every question when someone asks, ‘Why Bluefield?’” stated City of Bluefield Mayor and BEDA Board Member Ron Martin.

The MyBluefield site was designed by Ebony Murrell, Owner of OnPath Graphics, a City of Bluefield Small Business located inside the Bluefield Arts Center. BEDA Executive Director Jim Spencer thanked staff members Savannah Carabin and Faith Blackwell for their continuous work on the content of the website which features the newly re-designed CREATE Opportunity Resource Guide for individuals wanting to open a business in the City.

"Our new site is updated, optimized, and streamlined to make our resources available quicker and without having to search around the site. We intend to use the BEDA News ‘blog’ to keep our citizens, business owners, and potential stakeholders informed of every way ‘we work for you’,” stated Spencer.

Questions regarding the new site or social media handles should be directed to Business Operations & Marketing Coordinator Savannah Carabin at scarabin@bluewv.org or (304) 327-2401 x 2408.
