Small Business Saturday falls on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving every year. This year, it will fall on November 26th, 2022. Small Business Saturday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick-and-mortar businesses that are small and local. Small Business Saturday is a registered trademark of American Express and started in 2010. The City of Bluefield has been participating in Small Business Saturday for 8 years now! Fill out the below form to sign up for BEDA's 2022 Small Business Saturday activities. Note, it does NOT cost anything to participate unless you sign up for our Marketing Co-Op.

*If you have questions about Small Business Saturday or BEDA's efforts, please contact Faith at fblackwell@bluewv.org.

Last year we had participating businesses take photos with our "Come in we're Open for the Holidays" sign. This year we plan to do something similar. Would you like to be included in this year's SBS social media photo campaign? We will take a photo of you or your business to post on our social media accounts leading up to SBS (~5 minute or less commitment) Note, you will receive an email with a link to schedule time for BEDA staff to come take these photos if you select to participate. The deadline to schedule an appointment for this Social Media Campaign is November 11th by 4:30 pm.

The Bluefield WV Economic Development Authority (BEDA) seeks sponsors for prizes for raffle tickets. Raffle Tickets are filled out by an individual that makes a purchase at a participating Small Business on Small Business Saturday. In the past, winners have won Chick-fil-A for a year, $100 gift card, $75 gift card, $50 gift card, or a basket of goodies from our participating small businesses. Business owners and employees of participating businesses are not eligible to enter the raffle and win prizes. This contest is intended to encourage community engagement. Do you have anything you'd like to see added/changed about Small Business Saturday? Please note we are unable to change the date of Small Business Saturday. This is a national event that we participate in as a neighborhood champion. It is our goal to promote our businesses and encourage locals to shop small during the holidays.

If you do not have a physical location OR would like to be present in downtown as part of The RailYard/Clover Club's "pop-up" event, please indicate so. Small Business Saturday will cover the entire City of Bluefield. This question is for folks who do not have a physical location or would like to expand their presence into the "pop-up" for a few hours.
